Event Recap

Our most recent Dealmakers Series event was a half-day conference featuring two all-star panels with some of the leading minds in digital transactions.  The panels focused on successful strategies for the execution of digital transactions as well as the best ways to drive them.

Our first panel on Executing eCommerce was moderated by Sheila Dharmarajan, Head of Business Development at Zelnick Media and Former on-air reporter at CNBC and Bloomberg TV. She interviewed Andy Dunn, CEO of Bonobos, Chris Fralic, Partner at First Round Capital,Scott Kurnit, CEO of Keep Holdings / Founder of About, Inc., and Shirley Romig, Head of Corporate Strategy for Hudson’s Bay Co.

The second panel on Driving eCommerce was moderated by D&P Partner Jessica Naeve and included Russ D’Souza, Co-Founder of SeatGeek, Daniel de Grandpre, CEO of DealNews, Katy McCarthy, CEO of Geeknet/ThinkGeek, and Gautam Thakar, CEO of LivingSocial.

For over a decade, desilva+phillips held an annual Dealmakers Summit for CEOs, executives and investors, but beginning in February 2015, we will be engaging that audience throughout the year with our new “Dealmakers Series.”  The Dealmakers Series events are topical, invitation-only discussions for the top dealmakers in the Media, Technology, Advertising & Marketing, Information, Education, and Healthcare Communications industries.  Each half-day event will focus on a specific aspect of the M&A landscape and feature thought leaders and innovators in that sector – in this case, eCommerce.

As always, our events will approach the discussion through the lens of M&A. They will feature industry experts discussing the future of the media and technology industry, specifically focusing on recent and imminent notable transactions, as well as trends and opportunities in our space.  We bring together the industry’s most influential leaders for stimulating discussions, valuable networking opportunities and engaging programming.
