Ken has enjoyed a varied career across the media landscape.
He served as the founding editor of Information Week magazine before taking up a 15-year career in research and consulting, first as an analyst and program director in Artificial Intelligence at Gartner Group, and later as founder and CEO of New Science Associates, where he led the company onto the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in the USA. New Science was a retainer-research firm specializing in advanced information tech, including AI, imaging, and automated software design. The firm, with offices across the US and in the UK, was acquired by Gartner Group.
His focus areas include marketing services, research & consulting, customer intelligence & experience, ad tech, e-commerce, editorial content, lead generation, events, and cross-border transactions. Ken has been involved in the sales of Vision Critical Research & Consulting (Canada) to Maru Group/Primary Capital (UK), RDA Group to Ipsos (France), The New York Times’s UCompareHealthCare to Vitals, Corporate Executive Board’s Toolbox.com to Ziff-Davis, ASI Government to Compusearch, AdMeta (Sweden) to Wide Orbit, Ad-Juster to Innotech (China), Collectors Weekly to Barnebys (Sweden), Performance Racing Industry to SEMA, PhoCusWright to Northstar Travel Media, iens (The Netherlands) to TripAdvisor, Yankee Group’s 4G World to UBM, All Star Directories to Austin Ventures, Assisted Living Source to Sittercity, FranchiseGator to aQuantive, Visionary Networks/Tarot.com to NameMedia, TDA Group to Cybermedia (India), Wrapsidy to SQAD, Guideline to InfoUSA, Beauty Schools Directory to Arlington Capital/Plattform, and the creation of Spree 7, a Berlin-based ad-tech joint venture between PubliGroupe (Switzerland) and MediaMath.
