David is a veteran executive and entrepreneur in digital media, e-commerce and education technology.
He is a founding partner of Hatch Group, a venture development firm that stands up or acquires technology and media companies and scales them. Previously he led Global Strategic Alliances at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where he was responsible for creating and aligning technology partnerships and acquisitions with HMH’s digital transformation strategy.
David also spent more than seven years at Morgan Stanley, where he co-led one of the top Internet and Interactive Entertainment equity research franchises on Wall Street. His group was known for recognizing emerging industry trends early on and recommending the companies that would benefit from them as long-term investment vehicles for some of the largest investment firms in the world. His coverage included Google, Amazon, eBay, Microsoft, Intuit, EA, Activision and many other industry leaders.
David has also held leadership roles at eBay and Audible and led or invested in multiple early-stage technology companies.
He has a B.A. from New York University and M.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
