Jack has extensive operating experience and knowledge as a successful builder of media and marketing services organizations. He has held senior executive roles at many leading media companies and advisory firms over the last 25 years. He has extensive public company experience as CEO, Division President and Director, and has a track record of successfully raising debt and equity capital from both institutions and private investors.
Prior to joining DeSilva+Phillips, Jack was CEO of Tribune Publishing, CEO of Time, Inc., President of the National Media Group at Meredith Corp., and a co-founder and CEO of Empirical Media Advisors. In these roles he orchestrated and was involved in numerous M&A and capital raising transactions. He led the spin-off of Tribune Publishing into a stand-alone publicly-traded NYSE company, oversaw the debt and equity raises for the company and oversaw numerous accretive newspaper acquisitions.
Jack has held numerous industry association leadership positions, including serving as Chairman of the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA), Chairman of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and Director of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) and the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC).
