Ken Herts has been working with DeSilva + Phillips since 2013, focusing on information services.
Ken spent 29 years at Dow Jones, in a variety of finance, strategy, technology and general management roles. He developed strategies and implemented them with acquisitions, divestitures, and new product development to seize market opportunities, ignite growth, and improve profitability.
From 2010 to 2012, Ken served as VP & General Manager of Dow Jones’ Financial Markets Group, which included newswires, newsletters, databases and events for financial market participants. Prior to that, he was VP Finance for Dow Jones’ Consumer Media Group, a $1.1 billion division including The Wall Street Journal print, online and international, Barron’s and MarketWatch. Ken also served as VP & General Manager of Dow Jones Newswires, Publisher of The Wall Street Journal Europe, and as Senior VP, Technical Development for Dow Jones Telerate, a market data provider serving the fixed income and foreign exchange markets, later acquired by Thomson Reuters.
Ken also works with the non-profit Institute for Journalism in New Media, previously Empirical Media, helping newspapers and new media companies build digital revenue streams to support quality civic journalism, and he serves on the board of The Dow Jones News Fund, a non-profit dedicated to journalism training.
