He is also the Chairman of Oaklins International, the leading middle-market global investment bank, ranked #1 worldwide by Mergermarket for middle-market M&A transactions. Oaklins has 850 investment bankers in 45 countries.
Reed has completed M&A deals with companies such as ABRY Partners, Bertram Capital, Conde Nast, Dow Jones, Exponent, Hachette, IDG, Mergermarket, MetrixLab, News Corporation, The New York Times Company, Publicis Group, RLJ Equity Partners, Shamrock Holdings, Thomson Reuters, Time Inc., Televisa, TPG Growth, WPP and YouGov.
He is frequently called on to comment on media and technology M&A by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NBC Nightly News, the Financial Times, the New York Post and Bloomberg TV. He was awarded “Media Deal of the Year” by Mergers & Acquisitions in 2007.
He serves on several non-profit boards as Treasurer of the Foreign Policy Association (since 2011) and as Co-Chairman of the Hudson Union. The Hudson Union provides the public with access to discussions with some of the most interesting and powerful leaders in the world.
